There are several things you can do to be physically and mentally prepared for your tattoo appointment. Following these guidelines will insure that you show up prepared, ready, and respectful.

SUGGESTIONS AND REQUESTS:

  • Retrieve cash before the day of your appointment if that is how you plan to pay. Most people who are late, are late because they tried to go to the ATM before their appointment the day of, and encountered the bank was closed, or construction traffic prevented them from arriving on-time.

  • Look up the shop address and confirm the time of your appointment, the night before. You can have a clear idea of your travel time and avoid being late.

  • Wear dark clothing that you wouldn’t be bummed about staining. Make sure your clothing choice allows me access to the area I am tattooing.

  • Do Not: consume alcoholic beverages or take any non-prescribed drugs or blood thinners 24 hours before your appointment.

  • Do Not: Use any numbing agents without prior communication with me.

  • Do Not: Make plans for “after” your appointment… unnecessary time constraints are difficult to adhere to, and who needs their stressed out family members giving them grief about dinner plans at the end of their appointment? Not your tattoo artist. Clear your schedule for the day, if you can, or avoid making commitments until your appointment is over.

  • Don’t bring people with you. It’s just not my thing.

  • Do: Moisturize your skin leading up to your appointment. It is excellent.

  • Do: Shave the area we are going to tattoo, especially if you’re hairy. My dollar store razors can only do so much.

  • Do: Purchase your after-care BEFORE your appointment date. You can purchase it from my after-care page.

  • Do: Get a good night's sleep before your tattoo appointment, eat well, and hydrate.

  • Do: Eat before your appointment AND bring snacks/lunch with you!
Be prepared for a situation in which the appointment takes longer than expected, and you get hungry. It is best if you bring food with you from the start. Don’t wait until you’re hungry in the middle of the appointment and don’t have food. We will absolutely stop for snack, stretching, and bathroom breaks.

  • Do: Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. You cannot get tattooed without it.

  • Do: Increase your Immunity leading up to your appointment. Echinacea, Vitamin C, Elderberry Syrup are great for natural immunity boost. Not only will it help your body process and heal, but it will help prevent cancellation due to illness. If you get sick prior to your appointment, you’ll need to reschedule. My reschedule policy requires five days notice to reschedule without forfeiting your deposit. If you cancel last minute due to illness, I really appreciate the communication.
